Our story

It started with Cristina.

Cristina was a few months old when the cradle cap and eczema started. Nothing on the shelf was made for it. Everything Courtney tried did too little or too much. Too harsh for a baby's skin barrier, or so watered-down it did nothing at all.

That gap is where this started.

Courtney Smith is a licensed esthetician. She understood skin barrier function and ingredient labels for a living, so she knew exactly why nothing was working.

She wanted something gentle enough for a newborn's sensitive skin and scalp, and simple enough to trust every single wash.

When she couldn't find it, she built it.

What Courtney built, and why it is different

Cristina's Curls started as small-batch, plant-based formulas made for Cristina's skin and scalp, created by a licensed esthetician who understands skin barrier function firsthand, not guesswork.

Curls came later. Healthy skin and a calm scalp were always the starting point; the curls are what happens when that's working.
